Several changes due to call ups to 1st team...
Okedina comes into defense, Bowden and White come into midfield, no change in team shape or tactics.

Not sure what to expect first time sheeting with the Academy, will play it safe with a 442 formation.

Last time out we hammered Real 5-0 .. since then there has been a restructure, but hoping it won't have stopped our momentum.
We opt for a 442 with 3 youngsters on the bench to enhance their development ..
Llorente and Ze Luis both see the youths as a stepping stone to get them 1st team football again, and are not embarassed to be playing as over aged ..

POMPEY U23s - PSG U23s
Due Pompey II U23s setup, several changes, Alex Bass in goal, Gnagnon, Mnoga come into defense.
In midfield, Romero, Palacios, Cherki all start and Tyler Roberts drops from 1st team and leads the attack.
Bayern U23s - POMPEY II U23s
First time out for our Pompey II, benjani Jr drops into attack alongside Emeka Eze.
Pantic will lead a 5 man midfield, Pennington leads our defense.

Bayern were honoured to be asked to run a 2nd U23 team, and see it as recognition of the great work they have done in building a strong youth squad, such that they are able to split it into 2!
They take over at the bottom of the league but determined to do themselves proud.
St Etienne are an unknown quantity, so we will match their 442, but look to take the game to them ..

AWay at Batistuta's Academy tonight and only match for us.
First match in charge of the Academy so we will stick with the 442 and see how we play, change in tactics.

Back in Academy action, new signing Mavididi starts and makes debut in attack alongside German Valera.
No other starting changes, Marcio Vidal gets a place on the bench.
